The Grotto & Indian Head Cove
Tobermory, Ontario
  • Grotto
  • Grotto diving
  • Grotto
  • Indian Head Cove
  • Stand up paddling at Indian Head Cove

The Grotto is a cave with a pool of clear blue water inside and Indian Head Cove is a scenic inlet next to the Grotto. These two popular attractions are located along the Georgian Bay shoreline in Bruce Peninsula National Park and are reached by hiking about a half hour from Cyprus Lake.

In July, August and on holiday weekends, it is extremely busy here. The Grotto is so popular that all parking permits for the day are often issued by early morning. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. We want you to have a great time, not a disappointing one - please plan ahead. Better yet, plan a visit this fall.

NEW Timed Parking Limits for Grotto
For 2017, there is a new system of timed parking spaces at the access point for the Grotto. Timed parking is in place on weekends in May, June, September and October, and daily throughout July and August. When the office at Cyprus Lake opens at 7:00 a.m., Parks Canada will issue parking passes for three specific time-slots for that day only. Passes for the day are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and are free for Canada 150. Parking passes cannot be reserved in advance. When all parking passes are distributed, there will be no further spaces available at the Grotto for that day.

The Grotto parking time slots are:
1) 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
2) 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
3) 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
